Motion Blur
Finding the poetry in everyday scenes is a mission of all photographers, and my way is to work with longer exposures that capture motion. The resultant intentional blur, aided by painstaking digital manipulation, creates delightful contradictions: a physical reality that’s simultaneously corporeal and ethereal. It’s emotionally distancing, as though I’m seeing through the eyes of a scientist from another planet, and profoundly moving, as repeated viewings provide a deepening sense of moment and intention.
