City by the Lake (2023)

$1,200.00

SPECIAL NOTIFICATION: This print has been framed and is currently on display at the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center in Kansas City, MO. It may be purchased here on my website, but must remain on display until April 23, 2024, per exhibition agreement. If the purchaser lives in the KC area, I’ll deliver the framed piece myself when the show’s over, with no delivery charge and no charge for the frame. If destination is over 60 miles from Kansas City, the print be shipped without the frame as soon as the exhibition has concluded. For further information, please contact me personally.

DESCRIPTION:
One of a kind, photographic artwork created through digital manipulation. Printed on high-quality acid-free paper using archival pigments. Single print, no others will be made. 30 X 30 inches with an additional 3” white border. Complete dimensions are 36 X 36 inches. Signed and dated, with a print-number (1/1), on the border.

THE STORY BEHIND THE IMAGE:
Chicago’s downtown was the original inspiration for the New City collection, a playful reimagining of urban architecture, verticality, and density. “City by the Lake” started as a reference photo of the Murdoch Building situated on the Chicago river. The realistic photo was digitally distorted and recolored because Chicago architecture makes me feel giddy and irreverent.
